2024 | Garmin BSJ Open Water Swimming Championships – Race 1

The annual Garmin BSJ Open Water Swimming Championships will be organised by the Swimming Board of Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club, under the auspices of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta and will consist of five races of a 2km distance, and one race of 4km.

The Club reserves the right to cancel events at its own discretion even at a short notice.

The Club will announce the location closer to the race date in order to establish a location with safe racing conditions.

Race 1 – 19th June – 6:30pm – 2km

Race 2 – 26th June – 6:30pm – 2km

Race 3 – 3rd July – 6:30pm – 2km

Race 4 – 31st July – 6:30pm – 2km

Race 5 – 14th August – 6:00pm – 2km

Race 6 – 28th August – 5:00pm – 4k

21st August – Reserved for Cancellations – 2k

4th September – Reserved for Cancellations – 4km

The entry fee for each race is €15 per race or €75 for the six races. Club Members’ Block fee is €60

SAFETY: All efforts will be made by the Club to ensure the safety of the swimmers during these events. Nonetheless, swimmers are being reminded that should at any time a swimmer feels unwell, s/he should immediately draw the attention of one of the marshals on the patrolling canoes or boat, or head for the shore immediately.  Swimmers should be conversant with all the applicable rules and regulations.
