In the first month following his passing, Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club will be hosting an evening to commemorate a legend of Maltese sport and former Club member, Jack Schiavone.
This event will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 to which all those who in one way or another have been a part of Jackie’s life, including cyclists, administrators, related organizations, clients, etc. are being invited.
The event will start at 1730hrs, where an animated Mass will be held in the Parish Church of St. Joseph the Worker, Bwieraq Street, Birkirkara. Bike Racks will be available on the parvis, so that cyclists can leave their bikes safely there during the Mass. Participants are urged to be at the church by at least 17:15hrs.
After the Mass there will be a blessing of the bicycles by the Parish Priest. Following that, cyclists present will leave together and head to the premises of The Cyclist in San Gwann – the very location where so many memories were created. A small reception to celebrate Jackie’s unique life will take place and the Club will give a memento to all those who attend.
Clubs affiliated to the Malta Cycling Federation and the Malta Triathlon Federation are asked to encourage their members to attend, with their respective kits.
