Road Running Series Regulations

1OrganisationBirkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club, in collaboration with other entities, and under the auspices of Athletics Malta, is the sole organiser of the BSJ 5K Road Running Series 2023, consisting of three road running races on a distance of 5 kilometres.  
2DatesFor the year 2023, and as approved by Athletics Malta, the three races of the Series will be held as follows:
  Tuesday, 13th June On the Mtarfa Bypass starting at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, 11th July On the Mtarfa Bypass starting at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, 8th August On the Mtarfa Bypass starting at 7:30 p.m.  
3ApplicationsRequests to participate in the Series, will only be accepted by the Club upon presentation of the race entry form, duly filled and signed, and accompanied by the race entry fee.  Applicants may apply for the whole Series or for the individual races separately.  Applications and payments may be effected on line through the Club website bsj.mt  
4Series Entry FeesThe entry fee for each race is €20:00. The block entry fee for the whole Series is €50:00.  
 Race NumbersEach applicant shall be given an electronic race number which will be valid for the three races.  The race number should be worn on the chest without covering any part of it.  A fee of €5.00 is applicable for lost numbers.  
5ClassificationThe male and female runners with the best accumulated timings over the three races, will be declared the winners of the Series. The races’ results will appear in real time online.  
6PrizesTrophies and/or other prizes will be presented to the top three males and the top three females in the general overall classification.  Trophies shall also be presented to the top male and the top female in the general classification in the respective categories as shown on the race entry form. A finishers’ medal will also be presented at the end of each race.  
7Presentation CeremoniesA podium presentation ceremony shall be held after each race.  The first three males and the first three females of each race will be presented with medals.  Following the third and final race, besides the race’s presentation of medals, the trophies presentation will be held as shown in Rule 6. Athletes who qualify for a medal or a trophy, and who do not present themselves for the presentation ceremony, will forfeit their trophy.
8Interpretation of these RegulationsBirkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club are the sole interpreters of these Regulations.
