Garmin Malta today announced that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club wherein it confirmed its support for the Club’s Open Water Swimming competitions for a period of three years. Birkirkara St. Joseph is the only local club that actively promotes and hosts open water swimming events and has become synonymous amongst open water swimmers.
The Garmin BSJ Open Water Swimming Championships, the Malta-Gozo-Malta and Gozo-Malta Open Water Competitions, which are held under the auspices of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta, have become popular events and a staple in open water swimmers’ racing diaries.
“One can compare the athletes competing in these events in the same way that defines Garmin products – hard work, determination, tenacity and the effort to beat yesterday every single day” explained Mark Gaglione, Garmin Malta.
Garmin is a category-defining company that designs, manufactures, markets and sells fitness devices to help people achieve their health goals since 1989.
“We are extremely pleased to enter into this partnership. Garmin and our Club have a long standing relationship and we are grateful for their ongoing support” commented Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club Secretary General, Euchar Camilleri.
The next race of the Garmin BSJ Open Water Swimming Championships will take place in Salina on Wednesday 21st July.
