Despite the challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic which prevented the Club from hosting its usual running and cycling races the Club was satisfied with the opportunity of hosting its full Triathlon and Swimming competitive programmes.
The Go&Fun BSJ Sprint Triathlon Series brought about new and old faces and a new Champion – newcomer Julian Harding – hailing from a swimming background, set the pace for the season and did not look back, proving he was no one hit wonder.
In the Garmin BSJ Open Water Swimming competitions, the Club welcomed a good crowd. Sarah Demicoli continued to prove she is the female to beat, whilst young Luca Vella is showing a lot of promise. Certainly one to watch.
The long awaited Coros Malta – Gozo – Malta and Gozo – Malta Swimming Competitions were not short of action. In the Malta – Gozo – Malta leg it all came down to a wire when Robert David Vella pipped Gilbert Bartolo to victory with just four seconds to spare.
