New administration office for BSJ Sports Club

Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club set another milestone earlier on this month when it officially inaugurated its new administration office in the heart of Birkirkara just a few metres away from its original foundation home way back in 1975.

The administration offices were officially opened in the presence of Mr. Raymond Grech, Club President and blessed by the St. Joseph the Worker Parish Priest the Rev. Fr. Josef Mifsud. In attendance were the Club’s Executives and a number of Club Officials representing the Athletics, Cycling, Football, Swimming and Triathlon Sections.

“This milestone is another feather in the Club’s cap. It shows that the Club is going from strength to strength. The premises facilitate the Club’s activities and administration in particular when it comes to meetings, race registrations and of course having a fixed home rather than having to organise venues for the various meetings the Club hosts for its athletes” explained Euchar Camilleri, Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club Secretary General. “By having a fixed home base the Club will be progressing smoothly into its fifth decade of existence.  Proposals are already being considered to further increase its premises in the coming years to meet the specific needs of the particular sports practiced and organised by the Club”.

The Club took the opportunity to launch its 2019 and 2020 Race Calendar confirming a packed calendar of events for its  various sporting sections.  Club President Ray Grech confirmed that its flagship events Ocean Lava Malta 113km Triathlon and the Malta International Challenge Marathon are once again on the calendars and the Club looks forward to yet another successful year.  He said that his Club’s organisational prowess has been upgraded by the acquisition of a large equipment transporter which gives his team further flexibility in the organisation of the Club’s brimming programme.  He said that in the coming months, the Club will be investing in further resources to ensure the highest possible standards in the organisation of the events, thus giving the participating athletes a memorable racing experience.  He said that the Club has already finalised a number of sponsorship deals for  the 2019 and 2020 events which will be of further benefit for the participants.
